The new Campos Meta formula one team has responded to Bernie Ecclestone's doubts over its ability to make the 2010 grid by insisting its programme to move into grand prix racing is on course.
F1 supremo Ecclestone told the Times newspaper he thought only two of the four new entries to the 2010 world championship would make it to the opening round of the season in Bahrain, which is scheduled for March.
But the Campos team is adamant it is well on course to have its first F1 contender ready for the new season.
"We have been working extremely hard in the past few weeks to achieve our targets," said a statement issued by the team.
"We have suffered from changes to the FIA rules since we became part of F1, but despite difficulties we have never considered the option of giving up on the championship.
"Our project is solid as it has always been and we confirm we will be in Bahrain in March and of course Abu Dhabi in November."
Team principal Adrian Campos added: "After our investment of 12 million euros, nobody is thinking to leave - just the opposite.
"We are fulfilling all the technical requirements imposed by the FIA to achieve our goal."
Campos recently revealed it has signed 2008 GP2 champion Bruno Senna for its debut season in F1 and it is believed to be in talks with McLaren test and reserve driver Pedro de la Rosa for the second seat.
