Joe Calzaghe has told Carl Froch to forget about ever getting in the ring with him as the Welsh legend has no plans to come out of retirement.
Froch sensationally knocked out Jermain Taylor in the last round of their super-middleweight clash over the weekend and then called out Calzaghe by vowing to "smash Calzaghe, if he gets his backside out of his armchair".
But the former undisputed super-middleweight champion, who retired last June after beating Roy Jones Jr, has no intention of facing Froch as he felt he couldn't "motivate" himself to fight someone who Calzaghe claimed was not in his league.
"I wouldn't fight the guy even if I did come out of retirement, which I won't do," Calzaghe told the South Wales Argus.
"I am sick to death of him (Froch) drumming up free publicity for himself by using my name. No-one who watched the fight with Taylor can believe he is in my class.
"To be honest it would be frightening what I could do to him if we fought. I couldn't motivate myself knowing how easily I could beat him and possibly hurt him badly."
Froch, who is unbeaten in 25 fights, has been desperate to get in the ring with Calzaghe for a number of years. But it seems Calzaghe meant it when he said he had nothing left to achieve in the sport after beating American greats Jones Jr and Bernard Hopkins.
