Jenson Button hopes to get his season back on track at this weekend's Indianapolis grand prix after failing to get off the start in Canada last week.
Button is yet to pick up a world championship point this year as his Honda car continues to struggle in the middle of the pack.
However, the Briton hopes that the Indianapolis track will bring a reversal in fortune for both him and the team.
"I really enjoy racing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway," Button said.
"The place has a lot of history and the fans are so passionate about their racing. We always have a lot of support when F1 goes to Indy which makes for a great atmosphere over the race weekend."
Button has been eclipsed this season by McLaren rookie Lewis Hamilton, who won his first grand prix in Canada in what was his sixth Formula One start.
By contrast Button was left on the start line at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit after a gearbox failure.
He explained: "My race was over before it began, which is obviously massively frustrating."
The Briton believes that the Indy circuit will give him the chance to be more competitive because of the layout of the track.
He said: "The circuit is not such a high-speed circuit which I generally prefer, but you can get some great racing as there are some good overtaking opportunities."
Button said he expected to see a vast improvement in the car compared to how it had run at the start of the season and hopes to be closer to the front of the grid after qualifying.
