Jenson Button and the Brawn GP team proved they remain the team to beat in formula one this season with another dictatorial performance in Friday's free practice at the Chinese grand prix.
The British driver finished with the fastest time of the day (one minute 35.679 seconds) after the second of the two practice sessions in Shanghai, pipping Williams' Nico Rosberg to top spot by 0.025 seconds.
Brazil's Rubens Barichello proved to be a more than able deputy for Button, finishing third in the standings with 1:35.881.
Friday proved to be a good day for the Red Bulls of Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel, who came fourth and fifth with times of 1:36.105 and 1:36.167, respectively.
Another team enjoying a solid day's racing was McLaren, off the back of the news that former team principal Ron Dennis is cutting ties with the F1 branch of the company this week.
His former protégé Lewis Hamilton enjoyed a great early session in China, posting the fastest time of the morning with 1:37.334 with team-mate Heikki Kovalainen fourth after a lap time of 1:37.672.
The performance of the McLarens dropped off somewhat in the second session, with Kovalainen finishing ninth and Hamilton 13th, although the team claim this was a more experimental practice.
