A new rail link is set to boost Scotland's labour market by providing 130 new jobs and boosting the economy.
According to ScotRail, the Airdrie to Bathgate line will inject £1.3 million into the economy in wages alone.
The project involves extending the Hellinsburgh to Airdrie line by 15 miles and effectively links the town to Edinburgh.
Many of the new positions will be based in Bathgate and ScotRail managing director Steve Montgomery said: "The new line is great news - creating jobs and travel opportunities."
"It also demonstrates the commitment of industry partnerships in achieving improvements to the railway in Scotland."
The firm is recruiting for a number of roles, including train drivers, maintenance staff and ticket sellers.
Services are expected to begin later this year after the final section of track was laid last week.
Passengers between Glasgow and Edinburgh will be served with four trains per hour, granting easy access to Scotland's two biggest cities.
Stops on the existing line include Coatdyke, Easterhouse, Carntyne, High Street and Glasgow Queen Street.
