Postal strikes 'could be avoided', reports say

The third round of postal strikes due to take place this Friday and Monday could be avoided, reports claim.
Union sources have told the BBC a possible deal was on the table to prevent industrial action.
The third round is due to be more disruptive than recent strikes, as it will be an all-out strike, rather than just involving separate departments.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) were in talks yesterday with the Royal Mail at the Trade Union Congress (TUC) headquarters in London, with a CWU Postal Executive meeting due to take place today.
Earlier today the CWU had said that both they and Royal Mail have agreed not to speak publicly about the detail of the discussions so far, adding that the two national strikes on November 6th and November 9th - involving all 121,000 members in Royal Mail Letters - are set to go ahead as planned.
