Burnley manager Brian Laws has stressed the Lancashire side's battle for Premier League survival is not over, despite losing 1-0 to Blackburn at Turf Moor.
The defeat leaves them three points behind closest rivals Hull having played one game more.
However Burnley are still the play Iain Dowie's side and Laws believes his team can still avoid relegation.
"Is it over? No it's not over," he said.
"We may have to win three or four games. We just have to make sure that this result doesn't deflate the team."
A controversial penalty gave Blackburn victory with David Dunn dispatching the spot kick. However, replays showed Martin Olsson went down under no contact from Brian Jensen though and Laws felt it was a poor decision.
"The referee obviously thought there was contact, but quite clearly there was no contact," he said.
"It's a harsh decision and it's a hard one to stomach.
"It was important getting that first goal and obviously Blackburn getting that gave us a mountain to climb."
