An irritable Phil Brown has faced the media after the resignation of Hull City chairman Paul Duffen, with the manager claiming he has the full support of the players.
Hull currently sit 18th in the Premier League and plenty of speculation has surrounded the future of manager Brown, but Duffen decided to accept ultimate responsibility for the team's failings by stepping down.
Brown had brought his press conference forward by 24 hours in order to make a statement about Duffen, but he repeatedly refused to answer any questions about off-field matters.
"Paul's not playing on Saturday, I'm here to talk to you about the game against Burnley," Brown continually said as he lost his patience with reporters.
He did, however make it clear that he had the full support of his playing squad.
"[Duffen's departure] doesn't affect my position," Brown continued.
"My players are a million per cent behind me and will hopefully show that against Burnley on Saturday."
Duffen had revealed that he left his position due to poor performances by the team, which has seen them win only three games in 2009.
But Brown says that, as far as he is concerned, Duffen left for business reasons: "I don't think it was on football results; I think it was on the business of football."
Hull now face Burnley on Saturday, looking for only their third win of the season.
