Veteran Paul Broadhurst stormed to the top of the leaderboard at the Estoril Open de Portugal with a third round four-under-par 67.
The 42-year-old, who is aiming to lift his third title in Cascais in five years, finished his round brilliantly as he fired a six-under-par in the last 13 holes, which included two birdies in the last three holes.
Broadhurst is on seven-under-par and is one shot ahead of the trio of Englishman David Lynn, Wales' Jamie Donaldson and Dutchman Maarten Lafeber.
"There must be something in the beer in Portugal," Broadhurst joked afterwards.
"It suits my game. There are one or two tight holes, but a bit of a room on others. And after struggling with my putter for two or three months it seems to be working."
Lafebar had a phenomenal round as he almost equalled the European Tour record for nine holes. His score of 28 on the back nine was just one shot of the record.
The Dutchman, who started the day way back in 42nd position, hit five consecutive birdies before chipping in from 20 yards for an eagle on the 16th.
"I played great yesterday, but had 35 putts and didn't get anything out of the round," said Lafebar.
"I thought if I could get to two or three under I might have a little chance tomorrow. Then came that fantastic back nine."
Overnight leader Ross McGowan had a share of the lead with three holes left, but bogeyed the last hole to fall back to fifth.
