Arsenal and England under-21 international Jack Wilshere has joined Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season.
Wilshere, 18, has made 15 appearances for the Gunners but is still not considered a first-team regular, prompting manager Arsene Wenger to make him available for loan.
Rumours last week suggested one of several teams on the continent had made enquiries about the attacking midfielder, but Wenger said he preferred to loan him out to another English club - with the Trotters winning the race for his signature.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle said: "Jack is a talented, young, hungry player who I think has got a bright future ahead of him. He has got an abundance of quality and he will enhance our squad."
Wilshere is the second teenage prospect to be signed at the Reebok Stadium within a week following Manchester City striker Vladimir Weiss' arrival a few days ago.
And Coyle said he is excited by the raw attacking talent he will have at his disposal as the former Burnley boss looks to guide his new club to safety this season.
"It is similar to the deal with Vladimir Weiss in terms of the belief that I can help the player and the player can help this football club," he continued.
"The deals suit all parties concerned if the boys go and deliver on the pitch."
Wilshere made his Arsenal debut against Blackburn Rovers in September 2008, aged 16 years and 256 days, making him the youngest ever player to represent the Gunners in a competitive match.
His registration has been processed already, meaning he is eligible to make his Bolton bow against Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.
