Bolton Wanderers made light work of a disjointed West Ham side as Alan Pardew's team crashed to a 4-0 defeat at the Reebok Stadium.
Kevin Davies notched two goals as a powerful spearhead for the Trotters' attacks, while fellow forwards Nicolas Anelka and El-Hadji-Diouf scored once apiece.
The result means the east London outfit are still deep in the relegation mire in 18th position, having played a game more than most of the sides above them.
The Hammers struggled to offer any attacking threat at all throughout the contest as a hard-working home side cut off the supply lines to a potentially-explosive front pairing of Carlos Tevez and Marlon Harewood.
Instead it was Sam Allardyce's strikeforce who enjoyed their evening's work by providing some precise finishing to some typically-robust build-up play.
In the 17th minute, after the ball had flown across the face of goal a couple of times already, Diouf provided a cut-back which Davies casually smashed home from six yards.
The Senegalese frontman fluffed a headed chance of his own before the half was out but Bolton were never likely to be punished for their profligacy.
Davies had his and his team's second just seven minutes after the restart with a predatory close-range finish from Ivan Campo's knockdown.
Diouf combined with Anelka to grab a third on 77 minutes, before the nomadic Frenchman clipped the ball past Robert Green just a minute later to get the goal his performance merited.
