Bolton Wanderers crashed out of the Carling Cup after losing 2-1 to League One side Northampton Town.
Adebayo Akinfenwa was the hero with two goals for the visitors.
Both came within the opening half an hour as Northampton stunned the home crowd.
Kevin Nolan pulled one back for Bolton with eight minutes remaining, but Northampton hung on for a famous victory.
After Gavin McCann was adjudged to handled Andy Holt's cross, Akinfenwa opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 22 minutes.
He doubled the lead six minutes later, rising above Gary Cahill to head past Jussi Jaaskelainen in the Bolton goal.
Cahill's evening got worse just before half-time when he received a straight red card for a shoulder high tackle on Giles Coke.
Bolton fought back in the second-half, and when Nolan scored it looked like they might produce a comeback.
Heider Helguson had the ball in the net with two minutes to go, but it was ruled out for offside, and Northampton clung-on for their unlikely victory.
