Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez praised his team's spirit after they overcame a determined West Ham at Upton Park.
Fernando Torres scored the winner with 15 minutes to go and Benitez said his team now have the believe to continue winning.
"We showed character and have confidence.
"We are improving and you can see the players have belief that we can continue winning," said Benitez.
Liverpool led twice through goals from Torres and Dirk Kuyt, however defensive lapses gifted equalising goals to Alessandro
Diamanti and Carlton Cole with Benitez conceding their performance could have been better.
"It was an OK performance, it could have been better, especially when you talk about mistakes," he said.
"It was a difficult game but we did enough to win."
Benitez also praised his fellow Spaniard Torres who he believes is one of the best players in the Premier League.
"If he continues to play like he did today, he can be one of the best.
"I was really pleased with him in the Champions League game in midweek. He didn't score but he created chances and space for his team-mates and worked very hard," he said.
"Today he was a threat and that means the rest of the team can work in a different way.
"He is a very good player and hopefully he will be better in the future."
