Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has backed Fernando Torres to lead Liverpool to victory over Manchester United.
Benitez has a terrible record in the Premier League against United since taking over at Merseyside three years ago. His side have lost five out of six games against their bitter rivals.
But the Spaniard feels the arrival of fellow countryman Torres makes Liverpool a more dangerous attacking team.
"We have more options up front now more players with different qualities. We have Torres with pace and he can create for himself. He makes a big difference for us," said Benitez.
"We can have plenty of possession and I am sure that we will score goals because we have more power up front."
Benitez admitted the clash against United at Anfield tomorrow will be a major reflection of how much his team has improved and the seriousness of their title ambitions for this season.
"I think we are really close to them," said the Liverpool boss. "We beat them in the FA Cup and last season the league games were really close. Now we have a better team and a better squad and more confidence, so hopefully it will be different.
"They have a very good team and very good players, but we have a very good team and very good players so we can be closer and we can beat them."
Liverpool are six points behind United in the league, but a win tomorrow and another in their game in hand will see them level on points with the champions.
