Under-fire Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez will be hoping for a rare piece of good news today with Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard both set for medical scans.
The Reds' star duo were both forced off before the start of the second half of their FA Cup third round replay against Reading at Anfield, which produced a shock 2-1 victory for the Championship strugglers.
And Benitez revealed Gerrard reported a tight hamstring during the half-time break against the Royals, while Torres was forced to be withdrawn after suffering a knee injury midway through the first period.
"Both players will have a scan and we have to wait for the doctor," the Spanish tactician said.
"Gerrard has a problem with his hamstring and Torres twisted his knee.
"Yossi Benayoun also has some problems with his ribs so again we will have to wait."
Liverpool's shock exit from the Cup means it is the first time since 1959 that both they and Manchester United have gone out at the third round stage.
It also heaps further pressure on Benitez, whose side have also suffered early exits from the Carling Cup and Champions League this season as well as continuing to struggle in the Premier League.
