Liverpool have rewarded winger Yossi Benayoun for an excellent season by giving him a two-year contract extension until 2013.
The Israeli international looked to be heading out of Anfield last summer, but was given his chance last season by manager Rafael Benitez. Benyoun shone in a number of games, including the Champions League game against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu where he scored the winner.
"I am very happy that we have reached an agreement. Of course, to be at a club like this is a dream come true and I want to keep playing here," said Benayoun.
"Hopefully now I can concentrate on the hard work that needs to be done and try to play better and better and win some silverware."
Benitez has been quick to tie-down key players to longer deals. Captain Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Daniel Agger and Dirk Kuyt have all signed contract extensions at Anfield.
The Liverpool manager will now have to turn his attentions to midfield duo Javier Mascherano and Xabi Alonso, who have both been linked with moves to Spain.
Argentina captain Mascherano is thought to be wanted by European Champions Barcelona, while Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has admitted he wants to take Alonso to the Bernabeu.
