A deal has been reached which will see England star David Beckham remain at AC Milan until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old previously made no secret of his desire to stay at the San Siro and not return to LA Galaxy before the end of the 2008/09 campaign.

The former England captain will now stay at Milan until the end of the season before returning to Los Angeles for several months and then heading back to Italy at the end of the year.

Under the terms of the original loan deal Beckham was due to head back to Galaxy on Monday but enjoyed his time at the Italian giants so much he stated publicly he preferred not to return to the States.

And reports suggest Beckham has agreed a pay cut to ensure he remains in Italy.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player moved to Milan in a bid to improve his fitness and return to Fabio Capello's England squad.
