The Chicago Bears continued their perfect start to the NFL season in the United States with a 37-6 mauling of NFC opponents the Seattle Seahawks.
A stifling defence and solid play from rising quarterback star Rex Grossman was enough to overcome the challenge of their fellow undefeated rivals and move them to a 4-0 record in through the first four games.
Grossman threw for two touchdowns and the Bears' defence did the rest in keeping the Seahawks out of the end-zone in what was anticipated by many as both teams' biggest test yet.
Elsewhere, the Baltimore Ravens continued their resurgence as a genuine Superbowl contender under the guidance of veteran quarterback Steve McNair, winning with the games final scoring drive to record a 16-13 win against the San Diego Chargers.
The former Tennessee Titans star had been quiet all game until the final drive, which ended with a touchdown toss to tight-end Todd Heap.
Perennial AFC title contenders the Indianapolis Colts also maintained their unbeaten start, coming from behind to beat the New York Jets.
Again it was the quarterback that was the star. Peyton Manning, widely regarded as one of the top players in the NFL, took the Colts on a nine-play, 61-yard drive to score in the final minute of the game.
It was Manning himself that took the ball into the end-zone with just 50 seconds left on the clock to record the team's fourth win of the season after four games.
