World number 12 Andy Murray came from a set and a break down to beat Paul-Henri Mathieu 2-6 7-5 6-3 in his fourth-round match at the Miami Masters.
Murray looked down and out after tamely surrendering the first set to his opponent 6-2 and then dropping his serve at the beginning of the second set.
The 19-year-old, who has been in imperious form so far this year, looked jaded and sometimes in disarray as he was broken three times early on.
Although he pulled a break back Murray could not get close to his opponent, who seemed confident and full of running.
Then, after completing a comfortable first set, Mathieu looked on course to complete a straightforward victory when he continued his dominance into the second set, breaking Murray's serve again.
However at 3-5 down the 19-year-old Scot produced a marvellous comeback, breaking Mathieu's service - when the Frenchman was serving for the match - and then wining every one of the next three games to take the set 7-5.
The British number one then turned on the style in emphatic fashion, racing to a 3-0 lead in the decider before finally closing out the match in two hours, seven minutes.
In the quarter-finals number 12 seed Murray could face third seed Andy Roddick, who he beat in the semi-finals on his way to retaining the San Jose Open earlier this year, or the tournament number 13 David Ferrer.
