Michael Ballack insists he will focus on returning from injury before making a decision on his Chelsea future.
The Germany midfielder, reportedly on wages of £120,000 a week, has not played since April due to an ankle injury.
Ballack, 30, is recovering from surgery but was surprisingly axed from the Blues' squad for the group stage of the Champions League.
The former Bayern Munich midfielder said he was upset over being unable to play in the Champions League until the knockout stages in February.
"I am disappointed," Ballack told the German Football Federation's website.
"But I have to accept it and focus on getting healthy again. Then I can make up my mind about other things."
"It has got better - but it is not like I could play again or train with the team. I can't give a prognosis."
Meanwhile, Germany coach Joachim Low has blasted Jose Mourinho for shunning Ballack from the European squad.
Lowe, whose side beat Wales 2-0 on Saturday, is confident Ballack will return on October 13th for the Euro 2008 qualifier against the Republic of Ireland.
"Chelsea's doctors estimate he will not be able to play for two to three more months," Lowe said.
"But Michael is much more optimistic and expects to play sooner. For us, Chelsea's decision isn't justifiable."
"I discussed it with Michael and he could not fully explain Chelsea's decision to me."
