West Bromwich Albion have suspended Roman Bednar after allegations that he bought cocaine and cannabis.
The News of the World has pictures which it claims shows the striker buying the drugs from a car outside his house in Sutton Coldfield .
The paper claims the 26-year-old bought the drugs just hours after playing in his side's win against Wigan last weekend.
Three days later, Bednar's fiancée is alleged to have collected more drugs as the same men drove up to his home again.
When confronted by the newspaper, the Czech Republic international, said: "Yeah, so?" and claimed it was for a friend. He added: "It wasn't for me."
Bednar was left out of the squad for the crucial match with Liverpool at the Hawthorns.
A club statement read: "Roman Bednar has been suspended while the club conduct an internal investigation."
The article claimed the striker paid about £400 for five grams of cocaine and an extra £20 for cannabis.
Bednar joined the Baggies from Hearts in August 2007. He has scored six goals in 26 appearances this season, having come off the bench 14 times.
