Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has scooped the Barclays Player of the Month award for the second successive month.
After being awarded the prize for November, the judging panel allowed the Portuguese youngster to hang on to the trophy thanks to his scintillating form at the tail-end of 2006.
The former Sporting Lisbon star picked up seven goals in six matches to keep his side in pole position in the title race and himself just one strike off the league's top scorer Didier Drogba in the hunt for the golden boot.
Premiership legends Robbie Fowler and Dennis Bergkamp are the only other players to have managed to land the honour in consecutive months.
In the managerial category, Bolton's Sam Allardyce beat off competition from Ronaldo's boss at Old Trafford, Sir Alex Ferguson.
While the Red Devils maintained a comfortable lead at the top of the table, the Trotters ended the month with a surge of form that brought a winning run of five games.
Victories against West Ham, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Newcastle and Portsmouth pushed the Reebok Stadium side into the top six and firmly into contention for European qualification.
