Swansea City caused the upset of the day in the FA Cup third round as they overcame Premiership side Sheffield United 3-0 at Bramall Lane.

Neil Warnock's side were undone by three goals in 11 second-half minutes as Thomas Butler struck twice before Leon Britton put the game out of sight with a powerful spot-kick.

Hull City will get another shot at beating Middlesbrough as a late Nicky Forster strike cancelled out Mark Viduka's 73rd-minute goal and picked up a 1-1 draw for the Tigers.

Fulham's progress was also barred by a late leveller as they were held 2-2 away at Leicester.

Former Everton striker Danny Cadamarteri added to Patrick Kisnorbo's effort in injury time to equalise goals from Moritz Volz and Brian McBride.

Portsmouth also left it late to win the only all-Premiership tie of the round and dispatch Wigan from the competition with a Kanu header sealing a 2-1 win after Andy Cole's opener had been matched by a Lee McCulloch goal.

Bolton bounced back from their New Year's Day reverse at Liverpool to win 4-0 away at Doncaster as Iranian midfielder Andranik Teymourian scored his first two goals for the Trotters.

Watford fell behind to a 20-yarder from David Poole in their clash with Stockport Country but rallied strongly and Malky MacKay (two), Tommy Smith and Moses Ashikodi saw the Hornets to a 4-1 win by the end.

Last year's finalists West Ham maintained their interest in this year's competition with a 3-0 win over Brighton which saw youngsters mark Noble, Carlton Cole and Hayden Mullins all on target.
