Liverpool's strong home form continued as they dominated Fulham during a 4-0 win in which all the goals came in the second half.

Chris Coleman's side had hoped they had weathered the storm as they made it to half-time with the score still goalless, but the Reds converted their pressure into an easy win after re-emerging for the final 45 minutes.

Captain Steven Gerrard slammed home the rebound from his own penalty on 52 minutes before a rare Jamie Carragher strike was followed by goals from Luis Garcia and Mark Gonzalez.

Middlesbrough and Wigan shared the points after Henri Camara had put the Latics ahead from the spot after Emanuel Pogatetz's foul on Paul Scharner.

After a series of stops from 'Boro goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer had kept the deficit at just one goal, Yakubu Aiyegbeni converted a James Morrison cross to rescue a draw in front of the Riverside fans.

Schwarzer's opposite number, Chris Kirkland, had a far unhappier afternoon as his injury jinx continued. He was taken to hospital suffering from concussion after bravely claiming a low cross in the first half.

Newcastle's upturn in form continued with a 3-1 win away at Ewood Park to Blackburn Rovers thanks to a brace from Obafemi Martins and a Steven Taylor strike.

Mark Hughes' side were briefly back in the game when Morten Gamst Pedersen pulled a goal back early in the second half, but Stephane Henchoz's dismissal before the break meant it always going to be a struggle to stay in contention.

In an afternoon with plenty of goals and incident, Vicarage Road was the one ground devoid of excitement as Watford and Reading ground out a dull 0-0 draw.
