Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock has warned other managers not to write off their chances of survival ahead of their crucial basement battle with West Ham today.
The Blades have been drawn into the relegation zone due to the recently improved results of West Ham and Charlton Athletic but Warnock still thinks his side have as good a chance as anyone of beating the drop.
The Blades are just two points ahead of the Hammers who would be able to move ahead of them with a win and could move out of the bottom three if Charlton lose to Everton tomorrow.
Warnock said: "A win would give us a massive lift and would surprise a lot of people as well because one or two tend to have written us off.
"Everyone seems to think that West Ham and Charlton are just going to take the points off us."
United are third from bottom and have failed to win since beating Tottenham 2-1 in February but Warnock believes his side will respond positively.
He said: "The Blades have always shown their resilience - we show people we're up for it and ready for it. What we lack in ability we replace with effort. It suits Sheffield United, definitely."
West Ham defender Calum Davenport says there is renewed confidence among the Hammers' players after achieving three wins in a row, including victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.
"We took a little bit of pressure off ourselves and the lads are bubbling, everything's lively and everyone's enjoying training. On paper everything looks right for us to get a good result," said the former Spurs man.
Davenport returns to the squad after suffering from a foot problem while Bobby Zamora will play despite a knee injury.
Sheffield United defender Phil Jagielka should be fit after overcoming a groin injury in a game that will be vital for both teams' survival ambitions.
