West Ham United have decided to release veteran midfielder Nolberto Solano despite signing the player only last summer.
The 33-year-old played 23 times for the Hammers last season, but manager Alan Curbishley has a number of other stars who play in the same position as Solano, including the likes of Kieron Dyer, Freddie Ljunberg and Julien Faubert.
Solano is hoping to find another English club and wants to stay in England for another two years, before heading back home to Peru. He has however ruled out a return to former club Newcastle where he had two successful spells.
"I am looking for another club," said Solano. "I hope to stay in England for another two years and after that, I will return to Peru.
"Everybody knows what I feel about Newcastle and those fans, but it would be difficult to ever return there.
"The reason I was forced to leave Newcastle was because of family reasons, and that situation has not changed. But one day, I might be back at Newcastle as manager."
Solano has spent a decade in the Premier League, first moving to Newcastle from Boca Juniors in 1998. He made a172 appearances at St James Park before spending one season at Aston Villa.
The Peru captain returned to Newcastle in 2005 and spent another two seasons there before moving to West Ham.
