Tottenham are bidding to upset Darren Bent's impending move to West Ham, according to reports.
Sky Sports News claims the Charlton striker is the target of an undisclosed bid from Spurs, who are seeking to put a spanner in the works for West Ham's £17 million offer.
The Hammers were reported as having all but sealed the £75,000-a-week deal in this morning's papers, with midfielder Hayden Mullins being sent to Charlton in return as a sweetener.
But now Bent's future is once again uncertain as Spurs' European prospects may make the 23-year-old waver towards White Hart Lane's Martin Jol.
West Ham boss Alan Curbishley has a track record of securing Bent's services, having lured him to Charlton from Ipswich two years ago on a four-year deal.
That may not count for much now but, whoever Bent ends up going to, the Tractor Boys will be in the money when Bent does move on.
A clause in their transfer arrangements for his 2005 move from East Anglia to London means Ipswich receive 20 per cent of any profit from Bent's transfer fee - potentially in the region of £2.5 million.
Bent scored 15 goals for Charlton in the 2006/07 season from his 35 starts for the club.
