Manager David Moyes has praised Everton's "terrific" comeback as his side beat West Ham United to take their place in the Carling Cup semi-finals.
The Toffees rebounded after Carlton Cole gave the home side an early lead at Upton Park.
Leon Osman scored Everton's equaliser just before the break and in-form striker Ayigbeni Yakubu settled matters late on as he took advantage of a glaring error from Hammers goalkeeper Rob Green to tap in.
Despite being gifted the win by Green mishandling a through ball that was left to him by Danny Gabbidon, Moyes said the win was no more than his side deserved.
"The way we came back after they scored was terrific. The first-half might have been as good as we have played in my time here," he said.
"It is an important result and we are delighted with it."
Moyes quickly down-played the result, however, claiming he would not be satisfied unless Everton were able to progress past the semi-final stage to challenge for the League Cup trophy.
"We have not won anything yet," he continued.
"We are going to really enjoy this result and the players and fans deserve it, but you don't get anything for winning a quarter-final."
Everton face West Ham again in the Premier League on Saturday when the east London side will look to gain immediate revenge.
