Sven-Goran Eriksson says Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson is still top-class despite the problems he has had this season.
The Manchester City manager made Robinson his first choice England goalkeeper during his World Cup campaign and insists the Spurs man remains one of the best goalkeepers in the country.
"There is no doubt Paul Robinson is a top-class keeper," said Eriksson.
"He is a modern goalkeeper. He can use his feet, he is a very good kicker of the ball. He is steady and very professional."
Eriksson' s team travel to White Hart Lane to face Spurs tomorrow and will hope to profit from the north Londoners shaky defence.
Robinson is still favoured by his former boss in spite of a series of high profile errors during England's Euro 2008 campaign as well as a blunder which led to a goal for Germany in a friendly at Wembley this season.
But Eriksson believes that Robinson is better than those mistakes suggest and that he remains a difficult man to beat.
The former Leeds stopper was replaced by Scott Carson for England's 3-2 defeat to Croatia and although Eriksson says it is no longer his business who starts for England he remains an admirer of Robinson's talents.
He said: "In one-on-one situations, he is very big. For sure, he is one of the best goalkeepers in the country. But whether he plays for England is someone else's problem."
City will hope to maintain their push for a European place when they face Spurs while the London side will hope to move away from the relegation zone with a win.
