Tottenham Hotspur's difficult start to the season got worse today after their talisman Dimitar Berbatov was ruled out for a minimum of two weeks with a groin injury.
The Bulgarian striker joins Younes Kaboul on the injury list after the French defender suffered a hamstring injury in the defeat to Everton on Tuesday.
"Younes Kaboul will be out for the next three or four weeks, that's a real kick in the teeth," Spurs boss Martin Jol said.
"Dimitar Berbatov has a groin problem. It's an old problem and he will now visit a specialist in Germany. He will be out for a couple of weeks."
One piece of good news for Spurs fans is that exciting left-back Gareth Bale is back to training and should be available in the next couple of weeks.
"Gareth Bale is looking better," added Jol.
"Our medical team have also told me that Young-Pyo Lee is up to 85 per cent fitness and that will soon be 100 per cent."
Jol's men have lost their opening two fixtures of the new Premier League season and it has been reported that the Spurs manager has held crisis talks with chairman Daniel Levy.
However, Jol claimed that he only met the chairman to discuss the growing injury list at the club.
"I can assure you that I saw the chairman last week and the week before, so there was no different situation," said Jol.
"Of course, like me, he is worried because of all the players who are out and he hopes we can do better in the future.
"It has been a bad spell but the season is about a lot of chapters and we have not even had one chapter.
"We feel rotten about it and we will do something about it as we did over the last couple of seasons."
