Tottenham assistant coach Chris Hughton has talked about his admiration of Charlton goalscorer Darren Bent ahead of the two sides' Premiership meeting at White Hart Lane today.
Bent has scored eight times for the Addicks this season, an impressive hauls that belies Charlton's struggling record, and it has not gone unnoticed in north London.
Hughton said: "It says a lot for the quality Bent has with him having scored the amount of goals he has given the fact that his team have struggled for good results.
"He is certainly one to watch and Andy [Reid], from a deeper position, will find the runs of Bent."
Spurs may try and prise the Charlton start away during the transfer window as speculation about the future of their own strikers continues.
Jermain Defoe will have a chance to press his claims for a starting place now that Robbie Keane is injured.
Charlton boss Les Reed remembers working with Defoe when he was younger and admires the striker as much as Spurs do his front man.
"I always enjoyed working with Jermain and it's a pity I'm not doing it now," said the Charlton manager.
The Addicks will be hoping to build on the midweek win over Blackburn but are yet to win away from home in the Premiership.
Spurs' home form has been excellent. Having won 11 of their last 16 games in all competitions, three points today could realistically see them move into the top six.
