Under-fire goalkeeper Paul Robinson is out of Tottenham's clash with Newcastle on Monday with a calf injury.
The 28-year-old suffered the injury in England's 2-1 defeat to Russia yesterday in Moscow.
Robinson has been slaughtered by fans after parrying a long-range shot which allowed Roman Pavlyuchenko to slot home the winner for the Russians.
Spurs boss Martin Jol said Robinson should return for the crunch Uefa Cup tie against Getafe next Thursday.
"Paul was assessed this afternoon, and it showed that he had picked up a calf strain while on England duty that will prevent him playing for us on Monday," Jol said.
Radek Cerny, 23, is set to deputise at St James' Park as England Under-21 goalkeeper Ben Alnwick is on loan at Luton.
Robinson has endured a nightmare season for both club and country, sparking questions over his choice as England's number one keeper.
His blunder against the Russians has destroyed England's hopes of qualifying for Euro 2008. The ex-Leeds keeper could be axed for next month's qualifier against Croatia.
Jol refused to reveal if Robinson would have played at St James Park had he been fit.
"I don't talk about line-ups, I only want to focus on my team," Jol added.
"I don't comment on my players [while they are on international duty], why should I?"
"I am very satisfied with him, as is Steve McClaren, otherwise he wouldn't be his No1."
