Goals from Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane helped Tottenham to victory away at Slavia Prague as Juande Ramos' impressive Uefa Cup form continued.
Despite the cold weather in the Czech capital, Spurs got off to a perfect start with Dimitar Berbatov netting after just four minutes.
Jermaine Jenas continued his resurgent form in midfield, driving into the Slavia penalty area and though he lost possession on the edge of the box the ball fell for the Bulgarian to lash in on the half-volley from 20 yards out.
However, despite their constant pressure Tottenham had to wait until the half-hour mark to double their lead.
Once again Jenas cut through the middle before playing an incisive ball to Robbie Keane on the left-hand side of the box, though the move still needed a cool finish from the Irishman.
Spurs started the second half at a similar tempo, with Huddlestone's long-range shot coming back off the post, but they then took their foot off the pedal and could have ended up paying the price.
Tottenham's goalkeeping curse struck again after Radek Cerny dropped a straightforward cross to set up a simple tap-in for David Stirhavka.
And Slavia then went close to grabbing an equalizer as Erich Brabec's header crashed back off the bar.
Though Ramos will take the win, Spurs will no doubt regret not having opened up a comfortable league for the second leg next week - set to take place three days prior to their League Cup final visit to Wembley.
