Manchester City and Wigan fought out a goalless draw at the City of Manchester Stadium today, a result that the away team will be much happier with.
The point may prove to be vital for Wigan in their bid to avoid relegation and is their seventh point away from home this season.
Man City's season meanwhile looks as if it's beginning to well and truly burn out and manager Sven Goran Eriksson must be concerned.
His team's best chances today fell to recent signing Benjani who was denied by Wigan keeper Chris Kirkland in the first half and missed a golden opportunity from a Darius Vassell cross in the second.
Benjani's misses almost turned out to be costly as Wigan began to rally towards the end of the game and Wilson Palacios should have won the game in the 81st minute with Man City's keeper Joe Hart forced into making a brilliant save.
Of concern for Sven, as well as his team's recent form, will have been the sight of Brazilian playmaker Elano being carried off with a thigh injury in the second half.
The draw means that City have moved up to 8th in the Premiership table, tied on 45 points with Blackburn, while Wigan moved above Birmingham, who demolished the Carling Cup winners Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 and Sunderland, into 15th position.
