Spurs and Sunderland swap keepers

Tottenham Hotspur have signed Sunderland's highly-rated goalkeeper Ben Alnwick, with keeper Marton Fulop making his loan stay at the Stadium of Light into a permanent deal at the same time.

Ben Alnwick: Hot prospect for the future

Tom Huddlestone says that the Cardiff crowd will provide a tough arena for him and his Tottenham team mates when they travel there for their FA Cup tie today.

Having started his playing days at Derby County the 19-year-old has played there twice before and knows that the home fans are capable of driving their side to success.

The Bluebirds started the season battling for top spot in the Championship but have drawn their last four games and slipped down the league a little, but Huddlestone says the cup tie atmosphere will still provide a test for the Premiership outfit.

He said: "Cardiff started the season very well and it's a difficult place to go, it's a great crowd and they get right behind the team from the first minute.

"The fans are very passionate about their football and it will be difficult but with our squad, we shouldn't fear anyone."

Spurs will hope not to repeat last season's failure when they threw away a two goal lead against Championship opposition, eventually losing 3-2 to Leicester City in the third round.

Huddlestone remains upbeat about their prospects this season: "We've done well in the cups this season, we're still in both the Carling Cup and Uefa Cup and that's very positive for us going into this game."

Spurs will welcome back Aaron Lennon and Robbie Keane to the squad, the pair having missed much of the December period.

Cardiff expect to have Kevin McNaughton and Willo Flood available for the game but Paul Parry remains sidelined.
