Tottenham Hotspur sporting director Damien Comolli has claimed that Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov is happy at the club.
Berbatov had been linked with a possible exit from White Hart Lane as part of new manager Juande Ramos' attempts to drive the side back to the upper reaches of the Premier League.
But Comolli is confident that the highly-rated forward is still forefront in the former Sevilla coach's thoughts despite being left on the bench for his first league game in charge at the weekend.
"I met with Dimitar's agent and he assured me Dimitar is not looking for a move in January," said Comolli.
"He is on a long-term contract with us and Juande Ramos sees him as an important part of our plans."
Berbatov signed for the north London outfit last summer in a £10.9 million move from Bayer Leverkusen and enjoyed a sensational debut season scoring 25 goals in all competitions.
His form reportedly attracted covetous glances from champions Manchester United during the summer, but speculation over his future died as the Red Devils closed in on Carlos Tevez.
In keeping with Spurs' own disappointing start to the new term, the 26-year-old has hit the net only twice in 14 appearances this season.
