West Ham owner Eggert Magnusson has insisted that there are no possible legal problems with Carlos Tevez's continued participation in the Hammers' fight for survival.
The Argentinean schemer has powered the Upton Park side to the brink of safety with a series of influential performances, but fellow strugglers Wigan have questioned whether he should be allowed to play.
Latics chairman Dave Whelan has written to the Premier League asking for "concrete evidence" that Tevez has been properly registered after West Ham were fined £5.5 million for the initial arrangement that brought him to east London from Corinthians.
"It is the Premier League that has stated that everything is okay and that Carlos Tevez can play until the end of the season, so for me that is clear," Magnusson told Sky Sports News.
"From my point of view the decisions about who is champions and who is relegated should be decided on the pitch. That is where points are taken and that is where you lose points."
West Ham will play Manchester United at Old Trafford on the final day of the season while Wigan and Sheffield United, the clubs either side of them in 18th and 16th position respectively, meet at Bramall Lane.
