Baggies and Stoke celebrate Premier League promotion

Chris Brunt scored his second crucial goal in a week for Tony Mobray's side
West Brom and Stoke City have clinched automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The Baggies finish top of the Championship after a 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers thanks to second half goals from Do-Heon Kim and Chris Brunt.

Stoke drew 0-0 at home to Leicester City, condemning the Foxes to relegation to the third tier of English football for the first time in their history.

Hull City, Bristol City, Crystal Palace, and Watford will contest the playoffs.

Hull missed a golden chance to go up automatically after losing 1-0 away to Ipswich Town, with the east Anglican club missing out on the playoffs by a point.

Bristol City finish in third place after a 3-0 win over Preston North End with goals from Lee Trundle, Michael McIndoe, and David Noble.

Neil Warnock has guided Palace into the playoffs after seeing off Burnley 5-0.

Tom Soares, Victor Moses, and a penalty from top-scorer Clinton Morrison put the Eagles 3-0 up at half-time, with Scott Sinclair and Morrison's second completing the rout.

Watford squeeze into the playoffs with a 1-1 draw against Blackpool, Wolves miss out despite a 1-0 win over Plymouth Argyle.

Southampton stay up after a thrilling 3-2 win over Sheffield United. Stern John grabbed the winner, after the Blades had overturned a two-goal deficit.

Sheffield Wednesday also survive after a 4-1 win against Norwich City at Hillsborough.

Leicester join Colchester United and Scunthorpe United as the sides who will play in League One next season. End of story
