Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes is determined to turn the club's form around and start climbing the table as they take on Reading in the Premiership today.

Rovers sit one place above the drop zone having taken just four points from a possible 24 in their last eight Premiership games and need a win to kickstart their season.

Hughes said: "We do not want to spend a length of time at the bottom, that is clear. We had experience of it in my first year and we turned it around.

"But we are certainly in a lot better shape now as a club and a team than when I first came through the door. I have no worries.

"We are a good team and will get points on the board," he added.

After reaching the last 32 of the Uefa cup on Wednesday night Hughes believes that could be the catalyst they need to progress in the league.

Reading manager Steve Coppell will hope his side can get back to wining ways after one point from two away games. However the Royals boss knows his team are in for a test today.

He said: "They have too many good players for them to be where they are and I'm sure they will, with time, climb their way up the table."

Reading would remain in contention for a European place with a win and will welcome back injured duo Graeme Murty and Seol Ki-Hyeon. Rovers will be without Stephane Henchoz and Brett Emerton for the game.
