Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce says he knows what he is doing despite losing 3-1 away at Blackburn today.
The defeat at Ewood Park comes on the back of heavy defeats at home to Liverpool and Portsmouth, which resulted in loud boos from the Toon faithful. But Allardyce has asked Newcastle fans to give him time.
"I know what's good, I know what's bad, I know what it takes to win. I know what to do and I've been doing it for 17 years," said Allardyce.
"We're in the business of results, so you've got to stop the opposition. From that position you can then expose your own strength and try and expose their weaknesses.
"Newcastle have been trying to impose themselves on the opposition for far too long and not winning away from home."
Allardyce has come in for abuse from Newcastle fans, but with the transfer window coming up, it may be the players who should be worrying about their futures.
"Every player has to decide whether he can handle it or not. And if he can't handle the heat then get out of the kitchen because that is what will happen eventually," Allardyce said earlier this week.
"We'll find out if we have players who can cope. A few have come here before and not performed because of the pressure of playing for a big club like this."
Newcastle's season does not get any easier as they face Premier League leaders Arsenal at St James' Park on Wednesday.
