Arsene Wenger has revealed he is discouraging his Arsenal players from thinking about the Premier League title at such an early stage of the season.
The Gunners have the chance to move six points clear at the top of the table with a victory over struggling Newcastle United at St James' Park tonight.
But Wenger, who presided over Arsenal's last title win in 2003/04 when his team went unbeaten for the whole campaign, said he believes it is still far too early to begin talking about the team's chances of picking up their first trophy since that season.
"Maybe for dreamers, they think about the title - but we are realistic people and we know that at 14 games there is still a long way to go," he told Arsenal TV.
"The championship is fantastic because it is down to consistency and you get that if you are capable to get your resources together for every single game - that is why we are not dreamers and are realistic people.
"We do, of course, think we are capable and we will grab that chance if we can get the best out of our team."
Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce will be hoping to end Arsenal's unbeaten league run this season.
He admitted yesterday that he "needs a result" to ease the pressure on his job after successive home defeats.
