Cristiano Ronaldo has vowed to be at Manchester United next season after helping his side win the Champions League title over Chelsea.
Ronaldo created two of the game's main talking points as he scored the opening goal from Wes Brown's pin-point cross, but then looked to have handed the initiative to the Blues in the penalty shootout when he missed his spot-kick.
However, subsequent misses from John Terry and Nicolas Anelka meant the Portuguese winger's failure went unpunished.
And afterwards he paid tribute to his team-mates and pledged his future to the club.
"I'm so pleased for the lads, they came through and won. They believed all the time and never doubted," he told ITV, before expressing the rollercoaster of emotions he experienced throughout the evening.
"In my opinion I played well during the game. I thought when I scored it was going to be the best day of my life.
"But when I missed the penalty I thought it was the worst day of my life."
When asked if he would consider leaving after such a monumental night, Ronaldo was unequivocal.
"I am staying," he replied.
