The president of Real Madrid has blasted David Beckham over his move to Los Angeles Galaxy.

Ramon Calderon has claimed Beckham, 31, messed the club around over his big-money move to the US last week.

The former England captain is reported to have stalled on signing a new deal at the Bernabeu.

Calderon said the former Manchester United star has conducted himself badly.

"For months he was messing us around. He never told us he'd bought a house there and I don't think that was right," Calderon told radio station Onda Madrid.

"He deserved a better end to his time at Real Madrid."

In an interview with another Spanish radio station, Calderon said: "I didn't like the way Beckham conducted himself, announcing publicly that he had another team, doing a video-conference."

Reports suggest Beckham will try to join the Galaxy in time for the start of the Major League Soccer (MLS) season in April.

The midfielder sat in the stands for Madrid's 1-0 win over Real Zaragoza yesterday after coach Fabio Capello said Beckham was not part of his plans.

But MLS commissioner Don Garber denied reports that LA Galaxy wanted to release Beckham early from his contract at Madrid.

He said in a statement: "David Beckham remains a member of the Real Madrid club until his contract expires [on] June 30th.

"Unless otherwise informed, we are looking forward to welcoming David this summer following the end of his contract with Real Madrid."

Beckham signed an eye-watering five-year deal worth £128 million deal with the MLS side last week.
