Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce has insisted that his side will not be adversely affected by the training ground bust-up between Joey Barton and Ousmane Debo.
In a press conference during the build-up to Saturday morning's game against local rivals Manchester United, Pearce said his squad will react with dignity to the situation.
"I am sure the rest of the players will react very professionally," the City and England under-21s boss said.
"There will be no negative response. The way the squad have handled everything has been a credit to themselves. I am sure they are galvanised by it."
Man City host title chasers Manchester United at the City of Manchester Stadium in the early kick-off at the weekend.
United will be hoping they can find the form that has put them at the top of the league despite losing dismally 3-0 to AC Milan at the San Siro last night.
The champions-elect crashed out at the semi-final stage, losing 5-3 on aggregate.
A win for United could see them achieve an unassailable lead at the top of the table over Chelsea, who will play Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
