Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor claims his recent excellent form has been helped by his constant contact with former team-mate Thierry Henry.
Togolese international Adebayor has scored in nine consecutive matches - two shy of Ian Wright's Gunners record of 11 - and is currently joint top of the Premier League scoring charts on 19 for the season.
But he has heaped praise on Henry, who left the club to join Barcelona last summer, for helping him to achieve all he has so far this season.
Adebayor struck up a close friendship with the French international in his time in north London and has revealed he is still in close contact with the Barca star.
"Thierry to me is like a big brother," the 23-year-old Gunners star said, revealing Henry had sent him a text message within an hour of Monday's 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.
"He talked to me a lot during the summer when he was leaving, he calls me and we have a lot of chats.
"He believes in my strength and my quality so I just want to thank him a lot because he helped me out a lot."
Adebayor also suggested Henry's influence at Arsenal stretches further than just him, adding: "I think Thierry keeps in touch with a lot of people [here]."
Many pundits had predicted the Gunners would struggle without their £16 million hitman.
But in the absence of their mercurial talisman, Arsene Wenger's young team have stepped up - playing flowing football that has seen them rise to the top of the Premier League, five points clear of reigning champions Manchester United.
