Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed Manchester United are capable of breaking Chelsea's 100-match unbeaten record at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.

League leaders United travel south to take on the Blues, who are second, in what is being billed as a Premier League title decider in west London.

And despite Chelsea's daunting home record, which sees them undefeated in domestic competition since 2004, Ferguson believes his team have the ability to end that run.

"Records are there to be broken and I'd be delighted if we did that," he told MUTV.

"I said in December that I was looking over my shoulder at Chelsea because I thought they would be a big threat to us, and I've been proved right.

"They're a strong and experienced powerful side and never at any stage in the season did we dismiss them.

"We showed good concentration levels against Barcelona and we'll need to produce the same again on Saturday. I've got a good bunch of lads and I'm confident they'll be ready."

The Red Devils will have had just three days rest between their Champions League semi-final first leg match at Barcelona's Nou Camp and the showdown at Stamford Bridge.

And although Ferguson admitted the quick turnaround was likely to be a struggle for his players, he said the "great incentive" that a win would virtually guarantee a second consecutive league title would be enough to see them through.

"We have had to... get the players recovered from Barcelona," he admitted.

"We've had the disadvantage of a day's less rest than Chelsea [who played Liverpool on Tuesday night] and then there is the travelling of course.

"We will do our best. We will get the players rested and hopefully we will be all right."
