Sir Alex Ferguson has said he believes the 2008 Premier League title race could be the most exciting yet between three different teams.
The Manchester United manager saw his side fall five points behind league leaders Arsenal following the Gunners' 2-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers on Monday night.
That result followed a bad weekend for United and fellow title challengers Chelsea who both dropped points - United losing at home to local rivals Manchester City and the Blues being held at Stamford Bridge by Liverpool.
But despite losing ground to Arsene Wenger's men, Ferguson believes the title race "will go to the wire" because of the remaining fixtures.
"It was an important weekend for Arsenal in that ourselves and Chelsea dropped points," Ferguson told Sky Sports.
"But points will be dropped by the top teams. There is a long way to go and it makes it interesting now. It's going to be a really good, tight finish.
"The neutrals will all be enthralled by it. We know the job we've got to do.
"Arsenal still have to come to Old Trafford and go to Chelsea. I think it will go to the wire."
Manchester United proved their title-winning pedigree last season by romping to their first Premier League crown in four years, preventing Chelsea from claiming a record third consecutive domestic title to add to their 2005 and 2006 triumphs.
