The Football Association (FA) will not take further action against William Gallas following the Arsenal captain's confrontation with Manchester United's Nani.
The French international appeared to aim a kick at the United winger towards the end of Arsenal's 4-0 FA Cup defeat to the Premier League champions, in which Ivorian defender Emmanuel Eboue was shown a straight red for a rash challenge on Patrice Evra.
Both players then squared up to each other, with Alex Ferguson claiming after the match that Gallas should have been shown a red card.
But the FA said Alain Wiley had not deemed the tussle a sending-off offence.
"The referee was not satisfied that it showed evidence of violent conduct and no action will be taken," a statement revealed.
Shortly before the confrontation between Gallas and the Portuguese winger, Nani had drawn an angry response from the Arsenal players by ball-juggling.
But Ferguson insisted Gallas should have been dismissed, regardless of Nani's showboating.
"I thought Gallas should have been sent off," the United manager said.
"The referee must have a look at that again. He kicked Nani from behind and the referee called both over because they sized each other up. He should've been red-carded."
