Claudio Ranieri has denied holding talks with Manchester City about becoming the team's new manager but has not ruled out a return to the Premiership.
Ranieri resigned as the manager of Italian side Parma last week sparking rumours that he was set to join City but the former Chelsea coach says he has not had any contact with the north-west side.
Stuart Pearce was sacked at the end of last season following a poor run of results that saw the team flirt with relegation.
Since then there has been speculation that the club will be taken over by investors, though former City player Ray Ranson ruled himself out earlier this week.
It is believed that Ranieri, who guided Chelsea to the semi-finals of the Champions League, is wanted by City officials to take over from Pearce.
Ranieri told Sky Sports: "I had four years [in England], it went very, very well and I had fantastic seasons. I'd like to come back and I am looking forward.
"Maybe [I would be interested] but nothing is sure. For me it is exciting to save Parma.
"I like to come to England but there are also some important questions in Italy," he concluded.
It appears that Ranieri's attention may be focussed on the vacancy at Juventus after Didier Deschamps decided to leave the Turin giants having guided them back into Serie A.
Ranieri has also enjoyed successful spells in charge of Fiorentina and Spanish side Valencia.
