Ricky Hatton is desperate to avenge his defeat at the hands of Floyd Mayweather, but insists he isn't looking past his next opponent Juan Lazcano.

The die-hard Manchester City fan will defend his IBO light-welterweight world title against Lazcano at the City of Manchester stadium on Saturday night in front of 55,000 fans.

Hatton said he wasn't "overlooking Lazcano" but felt that he could sell out either Wembley Stadium or Croke Park if he faced Mayweather again, which could mean a crowd of close to 100,000.

"I am not overlooking Lazcano, but if 55,000 see me fight him, imagine what will happen against a bigger name," said Hatton. "I would love to set the all-time (boxing) record for an outdoor crowd.

"We have looked at Croke Park. That is an arena that could do it. It is something we have our eye on.

"You can't think it could get any better but it does. It never ceases to amaze me as I have never looked at myself as a superstar. But my fights have become more than a boxing match. They are events."

The Hatton camp have revealed that they have taken the first steps in organising a rematch with Mayweather after holding talks with his Golden Boy promoters.

But Hatton will first have to overcome Lazcano first and then a possible meeting with rising American star Paulie Malignaggi, before turning his attentions to Mayweather.
